The other class of gods are called the Vanir. They are the Gods and Goddesses of fertility and wisdom. Keep reading to learn about three of the best known Vanir Gods.
Frey/Freyr- Vanir god of fertility, Twin brother of Freya. Brings bountiful harvests, wealth and peace. His ship Skíðblaðnir would always have a good wind, and could collapse int the size of a hankichief.
Freya/Freyja- Twin brother of Freyr, Goddess of love and beauty. She ruled Folkvang, the Vanir after life that received half the heroes killed in battle (the other half went to Valhalla). She had lots of cats.
Njord- Vanir god of wind and sea. Father of Frey and Freya, husband of the giantess Skadi. Ruler of the Vanir gods.
